Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of protection to your InfraNest account, so it stays safe even if someone gets hold of your password.
Overview
- Adds a second step at sign-in: a code from an authenticator app.
- Protects your account even if your password is stolen.
- Your organisation may require it before you can continue using InfraNest.
Set up 2FA
- Go to Settings, then open the security section of your profile, and start two-factor authentication setup.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator or 1Password).
- Enter a code from the app to confirm, then save your recovery codes somewhere safe.
From now on, you'll enter a code from your app each time you sign in.
WarningKeep your recovery codes — they're the only way back in if you lose your authenticator, and they're shown only once.
If you lose your device
- On the sign-in screen, choose the option to use a recovery code instead of an app code.
- Enter one of your saved recovery codes to sign in.
- If you're locked out completely, contact an organisation admin for help.
NoteYour organisation (or the platform) may require 2FA. If so, you'll be asked to set it up before you can continue.
