Manage Namecheap from InfraNest
Manage Namecheap domains, DNS and certificates without the console
Connect your Namecheap account and stop logging into its dashboard to check on domains, DNS or certificates.
- Domains stay current: expiry dates, nameservers and lock state sync in, so you can see what's about to lapse without opening Namecheap.
- Domain actions from InfraNest: renew, turn auto-renew on or off, change nameservers and contacts, lock or unlock transfers, and turn on WHOIS privacy.
- DNS zones found automatically: existing zones are discovered and imported on connect, covering A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, URL, URL301 and FRAME records.
- Certificates tracked alongside everything else: certificates on the account show up with their expiry dates, so you're not checking a separate list.
- Changes made anywhere reflect correctly: a domain or record edited on either side shows up right, so you're not left guessing which version is current.
NoteDNS management only covers domains registered with Namecheap itself — a domain registered elsewhere but pointed at Namecheap can't be managed this way.
What you can do
- Domain renewal, nameservers, transfer lock, WHOIS privacy
- DNS zones found and imported automatically
- Certificate expiry tracked
- Cost totals across every connected provider
- Cross-provider tags
Not supported
Registering a brand-new domain still happens on the Namecheap website; InfraNest doesn't do it through this connection. InfraNest also doesn't manage cloud resources through this integration.
How to connect it
- 1
Turn on API access in Namecheap
Go to Profile → Tools → API Access in your Namecheap account and switch it on. Note your API username and key, and approve InfraNest's IP address in your Whitelisted IPs.
- 2
Open the Namecheap integration in InfraNest
Go to Integrations and open Namecheap. Give the connection an Account label if you want one.
- 3
Choose what to manage
Turn on Domains, DNS and Certificates as needed, then enter your API username and API key. Check the whitelisted IP shown matches the one you approved.
- 4
Connect
Select Connect. InfraNest checks your details and starts bringing in your domains straight away.

Questions
#What happens if my API key stops working?
If the key is revoked or API access gets switched off in Namecheap, InfraNest will show an authentication error and stop pulling in updates. Nothing on your Namecheap account is affected — you just reconnect with a valid key to resume.
#Can InfraNest change things on my Namecheap account, or only read them?
It can make changes: renewing domains, changing nameservers and contacts, locking or unlocking transfers, turning on WHOIS privacy, and editing DNS records. DNS edits are sent to Namecheap as a full rewrite of the zone, since that's how Namecheap's own system handles record changes.
#Can I manage DNS for a domain I registered somewhere else but host on Namecheap?
No — DNS management through this integration only covers domains registered with Namecheap itself, not domains registered elsewhere and pointed at Namecheap.
#Why don't I see a certificate I know exists?
Only active certificates on the account show up; unused certificate slots are skipped. If one's still missing, check it's active in Namecheap and run the sync again from the Namecheap page under Integrations.
#What if InfraNest's IP address changes?
You'll need to approve the new IP address in your Namecheap Whitelisted IPs again, or the connection will start failing with an authentication or IP error.
